During the configuration, the value of T392 at the PE end must be larger 
than the value of T391 at the CE end. Otherwise, confirming PVT fails. 
 

Application Examples 

The  following  is  a  simple  example  to  introduce  how  to  enable  E-LMI 

protocol on the PE and CE. 

 

Point-to-point EVC configuration example 

 
As  shown  in  the  above  figure,  the  network  cloud  means  the  CFM 
management domain of one Gold Shop. The 0/1 port and the 0/1 port of 
the  equipment  in  the  domain  are  partly  configured  to  two  MEP  ports 
including  MEP  100  and  MEP  200.  The  two  ports  are  partly  used  for 
connecting 0/1 port and 0/2 port of switch equipment of the Gold Shop. 
Both  the  0/3  port  of  the  PE1  equipment  and  the  0/4  port  the  PE2 
equipment are two MIP nodes in management area of the Gold Shop. In 
this  way,  we  can  create  a  virtual  Ethernet  connection  (EVC)  Evc-gold 
between CE1 and CE2. The EVC is consisted by two nodes including MEP 
100 and MEP 200. it is EVC of point-to-point. 
 
Suppose:  PE1  uses  port  1/0  to  connect  with  port  1/0  on  the  CE; 
configure  the  E-LMI  protocol  on  the  UNI  between  CE1  and  PE1  so  that 
the CE1 can get the configuration and status information of UNI and Evc-
gold  between  CE1  and  PE1  from  the  PE1  edge  device  in  the  Gold  Shop 
domain in time.
