When  getting  the  packet  receiving  authentication  password  from  Key-chain,  the  first  valid 

receiving  password  of  Key  ID  that  is  not  smaller  than  the  receiving  packet  Key  ID  is  got. 

Therefore, when the two Key IDs at the two sides of the authentication, the side whose Key ID 

is larger can pass the authentication, but the other side whose Key ID is smaller cannot pass 

the authentication. 

 

The  MD5  authentication  information  carries  the  serial  number  information  to  prevent  the 

replay attack. 

 

ip rip authentication key 

This command is used to configure the protocol packet authentication password of RIP v2 on 

the  interface.  The  command  needs  to  be  used  with  the 

ip  rip  authentication

 

mode 

command.  When  configuring  the  password  and  password  chain  at  the  same  time,  use  the 

configured password to authenticate. 

 

The no format of the command is used to delete the protocol packet authentication password 

of RIP v2 on the interface.

on the interface

To configure the password of the packet authentication of RIP v2 in cryptograph 
mode  on  the  interface;  the  command  is  used  for  the  script  running  when 
enabling  the  password  encryption  service.  The  use  should  not  configure  the 
command.

To configure the  password character string of the packet authentication of RIP 
v2 on the interface; the blank is the part of the password.
