Configure Switch via Telnet  

If  the  IP  address  of  each  interface  on  the  switch  is  configured  correctly,  then  Telnet  can  be 

used to log into the switch via LAN or WAN, and the switch can be configured. 

 

1. Configure via LAN 

 

Figure 1-6 configure a switch via LAN 

 

  Connect the network port of the PC with the Ethernet port of the switch via LAN;  

  Run the Telnet client application program on the PC in LAN; 

  Configure the default option (preference) of the Telnet terminal: 

 

 

Contents of the configuration should be set as:  

terminal ->default mode -> simulation option select VT100/ANSI.
