This command is used to configure RIP to re-distribute the routes of other protocols. 

 

 For the metric of the distributed routes, if the route map sets the metric, use the metric set 

by the  route map; if “metric” is  set, use the  metric; if “default-metric” is  set use the default 

metric. Otherwise, use the default value 1 of the command “default-metric”. 

 

When RIP v2 notifies other switches of re-distributing routes and if the notified interface is the 

next-hop  interface  of  the  route,  the  next  hops  of  these  routes  are  notified  out  to  reach  the 

effect of route re-direction and avoid the circuitous route because of the cooperation between 

the routing protocols. 

 

When re-distributing routes, the default route (0.0.0.0/0) cannot be re-distributed. 

 

The  route  map  can  match  the  parameters,  including  match  ip  address,  match  route-type, 

match tag, match interface, match metric, match ip next-hop, and match ip route-source. 

 

The route map can set the parameters, including set metric and set tag. 

 

The no format of the command can be used to cancel RIP of re-distributing the routes of other 

protocols.

Configure the process ID of RIP distributing route or process name

To  configure  the  metric  value  of  RIP  re-distributing  other  protocol  routes;  the 
value range is 0-16 

route-map 

To configure the route map of RIP re-distributing other protocol routes 

route-map-name 

To  configure  the  name  of  the  route  map  of  RIP  re-distributing  other  protocol 
routes 

match

 

To  configure  the  sub-route  type  of  RIP  e-distributing  other  protocol  routes; 
when the parameter is configured, only the routes that match the sub-type are 
re-distributed.
