Example

The following example shows how to assign a master IP address and two secondary IP

addresses to the interface Fastethernet0:

Those assistant IP addresses configured for the same interface have priority according to

their configuration time. At the same time, these IP addresses are not required in the

same network segment (that is, IP addresses have different network numbers) thereby

allowing switches to forward packets quickly.
