Send Method
R&S
CMW offers three different ways to send SMS messages.
●
Traffic Channel (TCH)
When a call is already connected the SMS message is transmitted by using the
Traffic Channel.
●
Paging Channel (PCH)
When an MS is in registered state, it is possible to send an SMS using the Paging
Channel.
●
Service Option 6 or 14
When an MS is in registered state, it is possible to send an SMS using service
option 6 or 14.
Therefore, a call will be established using the configured service option 6 or 14.
After message transmission the call is disconnected and the original service option
is restored
Test Procedure (Registered State)
1. Create or select an SMS message to send.
2. Configure the send parameters. Among other things specify the send method in
registered state.
3. Verify that the MS is in registered state and click the softkey "Send SMS".
The R&S
CMW sends the message to the MS and transmits it over the defined
method (PCH, SO 6 or SO14).
Test Procedure (Connected State)
1. Create or select an SMS message to send.
2. Configure the send parameters.
