Send Method (when "Registered")
Specifies the send method for the message file when the MS is in "Registered" state. If
the MS is in "Connected" state the message file is always using the Traffic Channel for
sending messages.
Only when the hotkey "Send SMS" is clicked the message is send. Refer to "Connec-
tion Control Hotkeys" on page 524.

Selecting SO 6 or SO14 do not reconfigure the "1st Service Option". SO6 is used
with Multiplex Option 1. SO 14 is used with Multiplex Option 2.

Acknowledgment
If checked, the R&S CMW requests the MS to return an SMS acknowledge message
after receiving the short message.
The section "MS Info > Last Sent Message > Acknowledgment" shows whether the last
outgoing message was acknowledged.
If
Not Acknowledged
is returned, it can indicate that acknowledgment was either not
requested or not supported by the MS.

Add Time Stamp
If checked, the R&S CMW adds the current time in each sent message. Therefore it is
possible to make different short messages with the same text distinguishable. The time
stamp prevents the MS from rejecting repeated identical messages. Format:
hh:mm:ss

Large SMS Handling
Manage SMS messages, which exceed the maximum physical size of an SMS mes-
sage. According to the transmit method (PCH, SO6, SO14, Traffic Channel) and data
encoding (ASCII, binary or unicode) the maximum physical size of one SMS varies.

Truncate : Truncate the outgoing SMS message text to the length of one SMS
message.

Multiple SMS : If the SMS message exceeds the maximum physical size of one
SMS, the R&S CMW cuts the entire message into multiple messages whenever the
