The messages are stored in the default directory

D:\Rohde-Schwarz\CMW\Data\sms\CDMA2000\Received

. The file name has fol-

lowing structure: 

rx<nnnnnn>.sms

 with 

<nnnnnnn>

 is a 6 digit number with leading

zeros to support sorting by name.

The R&S

 

CMW saves up to 100 files in its directory. Afterwards it will delete the oldest

file in directory and save the new received message with the released number. I.e.
R&S

 

CMW receives SMS number 101. Since the oldest file in the directory is SMS

number 1 

rx000001.sms

 the CMW deletes it and saves the new received file with the

name 

rx000001.sms

.

At R&S

 

CMW startup all files in the receive directory are deleted and the message file

counter is reset to 1.

Test Procedure

1. Configure the R&S

 

CMW to receive messages.

2. Set the MS to registered state.

3. Send the SMS message from MS to the R&S

 

CMW.

The R&S

 

CMW receives the message and stores it. Also the display "MS Info >

Messaging (SMS) Info > Last Received Message" is updated.
If "Concatenate Sequential SMS" is enabled, the R&S

 

CMW stores large SMS

messages in one single file with several data segments instead of multiple sepa-
rate files.

4.2.14.5

Handling of Large SMS Messages

Large SMS will be received as sequential SMS segments.

If an MS sends an SMS message which exceeds the maximum physical size to be
sent at once, the message is split into multiple SMS "segments" of the maximum
allowed size. Each "segment" constitutes a new message by itself with a slightly differ-
ent header. If the parameter "Concatenate Sequential SMS" is enabled, the R&S

 

CMW

stores all received "segments" in one file (as several data segments). Otherwise the
"segment" messages are stored in separate files.
