6 CDMA2000 Generator
The R&S CMW (option R&S CMW-KG800) provides you with the ability to generate
signals in accordance with the standard CDMA2000. CDMA2000 is the North Ameri-
can standard for the third mobile radio generation (3G). It is a further development of
the North American mobile radio system of the second generation IS-95 (CDMA). The
R&S
CMW supports the CDMA2000 standard 3GPP2 C.S0002-C.
The CDMA2000 generator is a real-time generator. In contrast to ARB files processed
with the GPRF generator (option R&S CMW-KW800), the real-time generator allows
to:

quickly re-configure signals and test the effects without loading a new waveform
file
●
use dynamic features for CDMA2000 tests

6.1 What's New in this Revision
This revision describes version 3.2.60 and later of the "CDMA2000 Generator" firm-
ware application. Compared to version 2.0.10 it provides the following new feature:
Maximum number of instances increased from two to four in all remote commands, see
Command Reference .
Software Version
To check your R&S CMW software version, open the "Setup" dialog and click "HW/SW
Equipment". The initial software version for each remote control command is quoted in
the reference description.
6.2 General Description
The R&S CMW simulates CDMA2000 on the physical channel level. The signal
includes physical channels (e. g. pilot channel, sync channel) suitable to test whether a
