User Manual 1173.9511.02 ─ 11
The 1xEV-DO measurement and signaling applications can be enhanced by the follow-
ing options:
●
Option R&S CMW-KM880/-KS881 add Rev. B (multicarrier) support to R&S CMW-
KM880/-KS880.
●
Options R&S CMW-KM880/-KS890 add advanced signaling support to R&S CMW-
KM880/-KS880.
2.3.2 Handoff in Revision B
This application sheet describes how to perform a dual band handoff for a multicarrier
connection. The connection is configured and established using the 1xEV-DO signaling
application. Then a handoff to to another 1xEV-DO band class is performed.
Sequencer tool R&S CMWrun
The automated test capabilities of R&S CMWrun make many measurement tasks eas-
ier. Option R&S CMW-KT058 provides configurable CDMA2000

2.3.2.1
Options and Equipment Required
A handoff in revision B requires the following equipment:
●
Wideband Radio Communication Tester R&S
CMW with software version
≥
V2.1.20. The latest software version is recommended.
This application sheet describes software version V3.2.80.
●
Option R&S CMW-KS880, "CDMA2000
®
1xEV-DO Rev. 0 / A, basic signaling"
●
Option R&S CMW-KS881, "CDMA2000
®
1xEV-DO Rev. B, basic signaling"
2.3.2.2
Test Setup
A dual band handoff emulates only one 1xEV-DO cell with one sector at a time.
In the following example the 1xEV-DO signaling application uses RF 1 COM (left fron-
tend, RX1/TX1).
2.3.2.3
Preparing a Handoff
To prepare a handoff, an 1xEV-DO signaling application must be configured and an
1xEV-DO multicarrier connection must be set up. These steps are described in detail
below.
