GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This service feature allows a station to override D
term
engaged in a two-party conversation. This fea-
ture can be activated by depressing the
Conf
key on the D
term
.

OPERATING PROCEDURE
To establish a three-party conference from a D
term
that is connected with another party:
1. Station-B, while engaged in a two party conversation, must depress the
Conf
key on their D
term
.
2. Station-A depresses the line appearance of Station-B and goes off-hook or depresses the
Speaker
key. Station-A can also go off-hook or depress the
Speaker
key and then depress the line appear-
ance of Station-B.
3. A three-party conference is established. The overridden parties will hear a Warning Tone when the
three party conference is established and
“CONF”
will be displayed on the associated D
term
dis-
play.
SERVICE CONDITIONS
1. PRIVACY RELEASE is available for a D
term
connected to a station or OG/IC trunk.
2. If a D
term
user depresses the
Conf
key, the line appearance to which that D
term
is connected to is
allowed PRIVACY RELEASE.
3. PRIVACY RELEASE is not available for a Single Line Telephone.
4. PRIVACY RELEASE can be established even if the D
term
has activated the DO NOT DISTURB or
PRIVACY ON DEMAND features.
5. A called party cannot be overridden by a PRIVACY RELEASE call twice.
6. PRIVACY RELEASE is only activated during the connection in which the
Conf
key is depressed.
Once the station releases from the connection, PRIVACY RELEASE is reset into the non-active mode.
To reactivate PRIVACY RELEASE during another connection, the
Conf
key must be depressed.
