DIRECT STATION SELECTION (DSS) CONSOLE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This feature allows a DIRECT STATION SELECTION (DSS) CONSOLE to be associated with a
D
term
. When the keys on the DSS CONSOLE are programmed for
DSS
keys, up to 60 stations can be
directly accessed in addition to those already appearing on the D
term
. Busy status for each station is indi-
cated by a red LED associated with each key.
In addition, the DSS CONSOLE can provide the following functions:
•
MESSAGE WAITING - Set/Cancel/Status Display
•
DO NOT DISTURB - Set/Cancel/Status Display
•
AUTOMATIC WAKE UP No Answer - Status Display/Cancel
•
AGENT BUSY OUT - UCD - Status Display
•
LINE LOCKOUT - Status Display
•
ROOM CUTOFF - Set/Cancel/Status

OPERATING PROCEDURE
To initiate a call:
1. Press the desired
DSS
key,
2. Lift the handset and converse when the party answers.
OR
1. Lift the handset and receive Dial Tone.
2. Press the desired
DSS
key.
3. Converse when the party answers.
To display LINE LOCKOUT status:
1. No manual operation is required.
When stations are currently in LINE LOCKOUT mode, their associated LED will flash red at 30
ipm.
SERVICE CONDITIONS
1. A D
term
can be equipped with as many DSS CONSOLE units as necessary.
2. The amount of DSS CONSOLE is limited to 8 units for every Firmware Processor (FP) installed, for a
system total of 32 units.
(DSS + ADD-ON MODULE)
3. A maximum of 60
DSS
keys can be assigned on each DSS CONSOLE.
4. When a call is made using the DSS CONSOLE, the LCD of associated D
term
displays the same indica-
tion that is provided for internal calls made from the line keys of the D
term
.
