BOSS-SECRETARY OVERRIDE-D
term
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This feature enables a secretary to voice-announce a call to a boss when he/she is currently on his/her
Prime Line.
STATION APPLICATION
Any type of station as boss’ extension and D
term
with appearance of boss’ extension at secretary posi-
tion.
OPERATING PROCEDURES
For a BOSS-SECRETARY OVERRIDE, when boss is busy on his/her primary extension and secretary has
a call on the primary extension of the secretary’s D
term
:
1. The secretary depresses boss’ line key appearance on the secretary’s D
term
; the party that was con-
nected to the secretary is placed on hold and receives MUSIC ON HOLD, if provided. Addition-
ally, the secretary hears special ringback tone and the boss hears one burst of tone through the
handset to indicate a call is waiting.
2. The boss depresses the
Answer
key. The party originally connected to the boss is now placed on
CONSULTATION HOLD and the boss and secretary can converse.
3. The secretary goes on-hook. The boss is connected to the caller originally connected to the secre-
tary; the caller originally connected to the boss remains on CONSULTATION HOLD; and BRO-
KER’S CALL is established.
4. The boss can alternate between callers by depressing the

key.
For a BOSS-SECRETARY OVERRIDE, when the boss in using a Single Line Telephone, and the secre-
tary has a call on the primary extension of the secretary’s D
term
:
1. The secretary depresses the boss’ line key appearance on the secretary’s D
term
. The party that was
connected to the secretary is placed on CALL HOLD and receives MUSIC ON HOLD, if provided.
Additionally, the secretary hears special ringback tone and the boss hears one burst of tone through
the handset to indicate a call is waiting.
2. The boss depresses the
FLASH
key (or momentarily depresses the hookswitch) and the secretary
and boss are connected, the other two parties are on Hold.
3. The secretary goes on hook. The boss is connected to the caller originally connected to the secre-
tary. The boss’ original party remains on CALL HOLD.
4. The boss may now alternate between callers (Broker’s Call) via use of the
FLASH
key.
SERVICE CONDITIONS
1. The secretary must have the boss’ Prime Line appearing on his/her D
term
in a multiline operation.
2. The secretary also requires a line for override.
3. The secretary must have a D
term
for this operation. The boss may have a Single Line Telephone but
since no line key or call hold key is available, the boss will always be connected to the second calling
party (Trunk B).
