Detector view
Shows the intensity distribution of the detection elements. This also allows a judgment whether the
system is adjusted correctly (see section
Maintain Tab
). The brightest element should be in the center
with a drop of the signal towards the periphery. The system will self-adjust during continuous scans or
slow time series acquisition.
Note that this display and adjustment is not available in VP mode. To get optimal adjustment in
VP mode, it is recommended to switch to SR mode from time to time and do a continuous scan.
Auto
In case the Auto checkbox (Fig. 622) is engaged,
the processing filter strength will be set
automatically.
This will give almost optimal resolution without
artefacts even with difficult (e.g. thick) samples.
Manual (Auto off)
To get the maximum of the resolution increase in
SR mode, use the super resolution slider (Fig. 623).
Moving it to the right will increase the processing
filter strength and result in higher resolution.
In case the SR processing filter is too strong, dot
shaped artefacts will occur (Fig. 624).
