Main Dichroic Beam Splitter (MBS)

MBS XXX/YYY
deflects the indicated laser lines onto the specimen and allows the emitted
fluorescent light to pass through.
Example: MBS 458/514, MBS 488/543/633

A
MBS XXX+
is a special type of a main dichroic used for IR multiphoton excitation. The
MBS 690+
for example, deflects laser light with a wavelength longer as 690 nm onto the specimen and allows
fluorescent emission light in the visible range below 660 nm to pass through.
Example:
MBS 690+

A
MBS XXX/YYY+
is a combination of a MBS XXX and MBS YYY+ used for simultaneous IR
multiphoton and single photon excitation.
Example: MBS 405/710+.
