CHAPTER 1 - SYSTEM OPERATION

Mounting of cover glasses or TEM grids
•
Place the specimen (sample carrier) in the
suitable sample holder and fix it:
Life Science Cover Glass 22x22:
−
Remove the clamping frame (Fig. 176/ 1 )
using tweezers.
−
Insert the cover glass (Fig. 176/

) in the
sample holder (Fig. 176/
3
).
−
Slide in the clamping frame into the sample
holder until the clamps are clicking into place
(Fig. 176/
4 ).
Life Science for TEM Grids:
−
Lift the spring (Fig. 176/ 5 ) of the appropriate
position and turn it side wards.
−
Insert the TEM grid (Fig. 176/
6
) into the
provided holding spot of the holder
(Fig. 176/
7 ) and fix it with the spring.
Inserting a sample holder (various mounting
frames are possible)
•
Insert the sample holder into the mounting
frame (Fig. 177/

) of the microscope stage in
the following way:
−
for inverted stands, see Fig. 177/

−
for upright stands, see Fig. 177/ 2
