COMPRESSOR TESTS AFTER OVERHAUL
NOTE:

A com paratively simple com pressor efficiency or built-
up test can be run. The com pressor must be connected to
an oil supply line of at least 15 pounds pressure during
the test and an oil return line m ust be installed to keep
crankcase drained. The com pressor (when tested) should
be tested without a strainer.
T o the discharge port of the com pressor connect a res
ervoir whose volume, plus the volume of the connecting
line, equals 1300 cubic inches. R un the com pressor be
tween 1700 and 1750 rpm . Elapsed tim e that the com pres
sor takes to build up from 0 to 100 psi depends on the
type com pressor as follows:
During the above test the com pressor should be checked
for oil leakage and noisy operation.
