the master cylinder before making adjustment at
the slave cylinder.
Access to master cylinder filler cap on tilt
cab models 70 is gained after removing small
access door located at front of driver’s seat riser
as shown in figure 5.
Master cylinder on tilt cab models 70 is
bracket-mounted below cab flooring as shown in
figure 6. Access to pedal linkage for checking and
adjusting purposes is made when cab is tilted com­
pletely forward. However, when checking and re­
plenishing fluid in master cylinder, the cab must
be in its lowered or operating position.
After servicing fluid system on tilt cab
models 70, examine door opening or cover seal.
Apply new caulking if necessary before installing
door, otherwise dust may enter cab later at this
point.

CHECK AN D ADJUSTMENT
N O T E : This check and adjustment is not re­
quired on tilt cab models 80.
Before making adjustment, pull the master
cylinder boot back on push rod. Visually check to
see if the piston is seated firmly against piston
snap ring in cylinder bore (fig. 7). If not, the
push rod is too long and should be shortened.
