below cover replacement of division channel as
well as the vent assembly.
R E M O V A L
1. Remove access trim panel (3, fig. 16) from
inner side of door. Panel is retained with five
screws.
2. Remove forward screw (21, fig. 16) which
attaches vent window frame bracket to door panel.
3. Lower door window sash, then remove
seven screws which attach vent window frame to
front edge of door framing.
4. At. lower part of door assembly, remove
screws (9, fig. 16) which attach vent window divi
sion channel to door inner panel. At top of door,
remove two screws (12, fig. 16) which attach
vent frame and division channel to door. Raise
and rotate vent window assembly from door
compartment.
IN S T A L L A T IO N
1. Lower vent window assembly with division
channel into door compartment. Engage division
channel with door window glass and adjust vent
window frame to door opening.
2. At lower portion of door, install screws
(9, fig. 16) loosely which attach vent window division
channel to door inner panel.
3. Install seven screws which attach vent win
dow frame to door frame.
4. At top of door, install two screws (12, fig.
16) attaching both vent frame and division channel
to door.
5. Raise and lower door window glass to check
for binding. If binding occurs, reposition vent win
dow frame as required by loosening or tightening
upper attaching screws. Lower door window glass,
then final tighten lower end of division channel to
door inner panel. Recheck for binding.
DOOR VENT GLASS REPLACEMENT
N O T E : The following procedure covers re
placement of vent glass and frame only and not
the division channel.
R E M O V A L
(Refer to Figs. 23 and 24)
1. Remove small access panel from inner
side of door below vent window. Figure 23 shows
access panel removed.
2. At bottom of vent glass (fig. 23), place hand
to catch vent friction components, then remove

screw from friction clamp. Slide clamp, friction
bushing, and flat steel washer from vent shaft.
3. At top of door through small access open
ing (see inset, fig. 23), turn vent upper pivot
screw from vent frame. N O T E : Screw need not be
removed completely, just enough to become dis
engaged from vent glass channel.
4. Remove two screws which attach division
channel to vent channel just below vent latch. U s
ing a screwdriver, pry down on vent channel as
shown in figure 24, which will cause upper part of
channel to become disengaged from pivot screw.
Rotate glass channel lower pivot shaft up out of
vent channel.
5. Referring to figure 25, which shows com
ponents of vent assembly, remove two screws
which attach glass upper channel to glass lower
channel.
6. Apply gasoline on vent glazing rubber to
soften old rubber. When rubber softens sufficient
ly, separate upper and lower glass channels as
shown in figure 25, then remove old glass.
