Cleaning and Inspection
1. Clean all metal parts in a suitable solvent.
2. Exam ine all rubber parts for evidence of hardening,
cracking, deterioration, etc. Replace as necessary.
3. Exam ine plastic parts for evidence of wear, cracks,
chips, etc. Replace as necessary.
4. C heck electrical contact points for evidence of bu rn
ing, corrosion, rust, etc. Replace as necessary.
5. C heck m etal parts for wear, scratches, cracks, rust,
corrosion, etc. Replace as necessary.
6. Check to m ake sure shuttle valve slides freely back
and forth in valve guide.
Assembly
1. Apply a thin coating of a m ulti-purpose grease
(N .L .G .I. num ber 1 with a rust inhibitor ingredient)
to inside of valve guide.
2. Place valve guide and shuttle valve in valve body.
3. Install new O -ring in cover and position cover on
body.

Install bolts and lock washers and tighten evenly and
firmly.
5. Place O-ring diaphragm in body and position cover
gasket on valve body.
6. Set contact strip in place in recess in piston and place
them in valve body on top of O-ring diaphragm .
7. Place spring in center of piston and com press it with
the stop light switch cover. Align cover, hold in place,
and fasten with two screws and lock washers.
