DISASSEMBLY OF CONTROL TOWER

N O T E : Control to w e r is u se d o n ly on c o n v e n ­

1. Position control tower (6) on edge in vise.
2. Rem ove gearshift knob (1) and grom m et (23).
3. Depress com pression collar (21) against spring (3) and
remove pin (2).
4. Rem ove com pression collar, spring, com pression cup
(4), and felt ring (5).
N O T E : D u rin g rem oval, d o not overstress the
s n a p rin g (7 ) re ta in in g the rock sh a ft (8 ) in p o ­
sition.
5. Using snap ring pliers remove snap ring (7). Drive
rock shaft (8) out of control tow er and remove gearshift
lever (22).
6. Flold shift finger stud (10) and remove nut (18) and
washer (17). R em ove 1st and reveise shift finger (9) from
housing.
DISASSEMBLY OF REMOTE CONTROL
ASSEMBLY

1. Loosen clam p bolt on shift lever (16), then remove
shift lever and thrust washer (14).
2. R em ove selection lever (11) from selection cam and
stud assembly (6).
3. T hrough opening in bottom of control housing (3), re­
move lock wire and shift finger screw (21) from shift fin­
ger (4).
