INTER-AXLE DIFFERENTIAL
COVER REMOVAL (FWD. AXLE)
1. Rem ove cap screws and lock washers attaching inter­
axle differential cover (29) to differential carrier (fig
2)'
2. Lift cover assembly, including input shaft, front heli­
cal side gear, and shifting m echanism , from differen­
tial carrier. Remove and discard cover to carrier gas­
ket.

DISASSEMBLY (FWD. AXLE)
W ith cover assem bly supported in suitable repair stand,
for convenience of handling, proceed as follows:
1. Rem ove snap ring from input shaft, then lift helical
