DTC P1285, P1299 (MZI-3.5) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES
z
Does the engine start?
1 second of operation. For
intermittent Stalls while driving,
verify the M-MDS tester to PCM
communication during concern. If
a PCM communication error
occurs, possible causes are:
{
Loss of PWRS or grounds
to the PCM.
{
Malfunctioning PCM PWR
relay.
{
Malfunctioning EEC PWR
diode.
z
Repair if necessary and return the
vehicle to customer.
No
DTC P1260 is not the cause of the No
Start.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF
DTC P1260 HAS BEEN COMPLETED
z
Verify that all disconnected
connectors are reconnected.
z
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
position (Engine off).
z
Clear the DTC from the PCM
memory using the M-MDS.
z
Start the engine and run it at idle.
z
Retrieve DTCs using the M-MDS,
z
Is the PENDING CODE for this
DTC present?
Yes
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

No
Go to the next step.

Perform "AFTER REPAIR
PROCEDURE".
