Fuel gauge sender unit range/performance problem
DETECTION
CONDITION
z
The PCM monitors the fuel level input communications network message
for a concern. The test fails when the fuel level input signal repeatedly
moves in and out of range, exceeding the minimum or maximum allowable
calibrated parameters for a specified fuel fill percentage in the fuel tank.

Excessive electrical noise
z
Fuel level input signal circuit malfunction

HAS BEEN RECORDED

Has FREEZE FRAME DATA
been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on
the repair order, then go to the next step.

AVAILABILITY

Verify related Service Bulletins
availability.
z
Is any related Service Bulletins
available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to
the available Service Bulletins. If the
vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED PENDING
CODE OR STORED DTCs

Turn the ignition switch off then
to the ON position (Engine off).
z
Verify related pending code or
stored DTCs.
z
Is other DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the appropriate DTC
troubleshooting.
