INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL
SWITCH CONNECTOR FOR POOR
CONNECTION

Turn the ignition switch to off.
z
Disconnect the cruise control
switch connector.
z
Inspect for poor connection (such
as damaged/pulled-out pins,
corrosion).
z
Are there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace suspected part, then go to
Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL
SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO
POWER SUPPLY
z
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
position (Engine off).
z
Measure the voltage between the
following terminals:
{
Cruise control switch
terminal B and body ground
{
Cruise control switch
terminal C and body ground
z
Are there voltage B+?
Yes
Repair or replace suspected part, then go to
Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL
SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO
GROUND
z
Turn the ignition switch off.
z
Inspect for continuity between the
following terminals:

Cruise control switch
terminal B and body ground
{
Cruise control switch
terminal C and body ground
z
Are there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace suspected part, then go to
Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR FOR
POOR CONNECTION

Turn the ignition switch off.
Yes
Repair or replace suspected part, then go to
Step 9.
