CODE or stored DTCs.

Are other DTCs present?
Yes
Go to appropriate DTC inspection.

INSPECT THE CKP SENSOR
SIGNAL SENT TO THE PCM

Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-
2.
z
Access RPM PID.
z
Crank the engine.
z
Is the reading
more than 150
rpm
?
NOTE:
z
The battery should be fully
charged and the starting system
should be functioning properly.
Yes
Go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT THE FRONT COVER,
CKP SENSOR AND CKP SENSOR
PULSE WHEEL FOR OBVIOUS
PHYSICAL DAMAGE

Turn the ignition switch off.
z
Visually inspect the front cover,
CKP sensor and CKP sensor pulse
wheel for obvious physical
damage.
z
Do any parts appear physically
damaged?
Yes
Repair if necessary, then go to Step 11.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CKP SENSOR
CONNECTOR FOR POOR
Yes
Repair or replace suspected part, then go to
Step 11.
