Managing Job Storage
Because stored jobs take up space on the controller’s internal hard drive,
you may choose to disable internal job storage for certain types of jobs.
Doing so frees storage space for other types of jobs and allows more and
larger jobs to be stored locally on the controller. Disabling internal storage
of certain job types disables those types of print jobs. For example,
disabling internal storage of Private Print jobs disables the Private Print
function. You may also want to disable certain types of jobs for security
reasons.
To disable certain types of print jobs and to disable the storage of scan
and fax files on the controller:
1
Log in as and administrator.
2
Click the Administration tab.
3
Click the Device subtab. The Device page opens.
4
Click the
General
link.
5
Scroll down to
Job Storage
.
6
Click the checkbox(es) for each type of print job that you want to
disable.
Note: Remember that a check in the box disables the function.
7
Click the
Scan
checkbox to disable storage of scan files on the
controller. Users scanning files will have to specify a different
destination for these files.
