Troubleshooting
Setting Up the Firewall
The firewall provides protection for the controller and copier from
potential malicious access via the internet. It can be used to control
access to the controller and copier from unauthorized groups and
individuals within the company as well. The firewall controls access based
on IP addresses and IP address ranges. It can operate as an exclusive list
or an inclusive list or a combination. Be careful when defining complex
access rules that you do not work against your own intentions. The
firewall does not cross-check, nor does it provide a composite list of
allowed and denied IP addresses.
You can also deny access from certain MAC addresses, effectively
preventing certain machines from accessing the controller and copier.
To setup the firewall:
1
Log in as an administrator.
2
Click the
Administration
tab.
