Configuring Directory Services
This topic explains how to set up e-mail directory services.
LDAP Server Registration
You can use TopAccess to register the Directory Service properties of the
LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) server. The setup
parameters are shown below.
Setting Directory Service Properties

In the Administration tab, click the Address Book submenu.

Click the
Directory Services
link. The Directory
Service Properties
page opens.

Click
New
to create a new directory service,
Edit
to edit an existing
directory service or
Delete
to delete a directory service.
Note: Consult your LDAP administrator for the LDAP configuration
details.

When creating a new Directory Service, enter the
Directory Service Name
.
This is a mandatory field and must be filled out to register as an LDAP
server.

Click the
Use as default for contact searches
checkbox if you want to use
this Directory Service as your default search service. Only one
Directory Service can be assigned as the default for contact searches.
Selecting this checkbox enables the next checkbox.

If you selected the
Use as default for contact searches
checkbox in the
preceding step, you can click the
Cache LDAP server entries every # day(s)
checkbox. Then select the number of days and the
Start Time
from the
pull-down lists.

Select a
Protocol Version
, either
V1
or
V3
, by clicking the appropriate
radio button.

When creating a new Directory Service, enter the
Server IP Address
, and
Port Number
. These are mandatory fields and must be filled out to
register an LDAP server.

Select SSL security by clicking the
SSL
checkbox to the right of the
Port Number
text box.
10 Optionally, enter a
Host Name
and
Domain Name
for the server into the
text boxes
