All the options are sent to the controller at the start of a print job so, if the
print file contains its own commands, they may override the
lp
options.

Options
Copies
The number of copies of a print job is specified using the
-n <value>
parameter with the
lp
command. The copy count is displayed on the
banner page. The default value is determined by the
lp
command and is
always 1. The copies are collated by sending the command
@pjl comment
dssc print collate=1
.
Title
You can specify the title printed on the banner page using the
-t <title>
parameter with the
lp
command. The default value is
determined by the
lp
command and is usually the name of the print file.
If multiple files are printed using the same
lp
command the default title is
set to the name of the first file by the
lp
command.
General Controller Options
The following options apply to all controller print files.
Print Language
The
net_gl10X0
program needs to know what printer language is used in
each of the files that it is printing so that it can issue the correct
commands to select various options. The following options are valid for
the print languages.

Each file to be printed is examined to see if it starts with
the “%!” sequence. If it does, then it is assumed that it is
a PostScript file, otherwise it assumes that it is a plain
text or a PCL5e file.
pcl
The print file is always treated as a plain text or a
PCL5e file.

ps
The file is always treated as a PostScript file.
