Configuring AppleTalk Settings
If you are using the AppleTalk networking protocol for any wireless
network traffic involving the controller, you must enable the AppleTalk
protocol on the wireless NIC. The AppleTalk protocol is enabled by
default. If you are not using AppleTalk for any wireless network traffic,
disabling the AppleTalk protocol on the wireless NIC reduces overhead
and improves efficiency.

Log in as an administrator.
2 On the Administration tab, click the
Setup
subtab.
3 Click the
Wireless Network
link. The Wireless Network page opens.
4 In the AppleTalk area, click the
Protocol
drop-down list.
5 Select
Enable
to enable AppleTalk.
6 Enter the
AppleTalk Zone
string.
7 Click
Save
.
Configuring the Wireless NIC Settings
If you are using the wireless network for any network traffic involving the
controller, you must enable the wireless NIC on the controller. The
wireless NIC is enabled by default. If you are not using the wireless
network for any network traffic, disabling the wireless NIC on the
controller reduces overhead and improves efficiency.

Log in as an administrator.
2 On the Administration tab, click the
Setup
subtab.
3 Click the
Wireless Network
link. The Wireless Network page opens.
4 In the General area, enter the controller
SSID
.
5 Select the
Network Type
from the drop-down list.
6 If required, check
Use WEP Security
and
Set WEP key
. The
WEP Encryption
,
WEP Key
, and
Authentication
fields are enabled.
7 Select the type of
WEP Encryption
from the drop-down list box.
8 Enter the
WEP Key
as 5 or 13 sets of hexadecimal characters.
9 Select the
Authentication
mode from the drop-down list box.
10 Enter the identifier for the
Default Access Point
as 6 sets of hexadecimal
characters (
Infrastructure
network type only).
11 Enter the
Channel
number (
Ad Hoc
network type only).
12 Select the
Transmit Power
from the drop-down list box.
