3.3 Tool Measurement

(c) Simple operation mode 2
When the parameter "#8957 T meas (L)-Simple mode" is "2", the compensation amount is written to the offset No.
of the cursor position at the time of the [Offset write] menu pressed.
(Example) Carrying out tool measurement for offset No.4, X axis and Z axis.
(Note 1) An offset is written in diameter value for diameter command or in radius value for radius command.
(Note 2) If writing the offset data is performed for an axis in which reference position return has not been executed, the
operation message "TLM axis not returned to ref. position" will appear.

Select the tool to be measured with manual numerical
value command. (Refer to "3.10 Manual Numerical
Value Command" for details.)
The tool to be measured is selected.

Point the cursor to the position (offset No. 4) where
the measurement result are to be set with [
↑
], [
↓
],
, or
key.
The cursor is displayed at offset No.4

Manually align the tool nose with the measurement
point.

Press the axis address key (X axis) to be measured or
the [Measure X] menu.
The calculation result of X axis is displayed in "Measure
value".
The [ measure X] menu is highlighted.

To measure the other axes at the same time, press
the axes address key to be measured (Z axis) or the
[measure Z] menu.
Keeping the result of "Measure value" of X axis, the
calculation result of the Z axis is displayed in "Measure
value".
The [Measure Z] menu is highlighted.

Press the [Offset write] menu.
The measurement values will be set in the
compensation amount (X and Z axes) of the offset No.4
(the cursor position).
(Note) The measurement value is cleared and the
highlight of the menus ([Measure X] to [Measure C]) is
canceled.
