E70 Series Instruction Manual
3.3 Tool Measurement
I - 165
(Note 1) An offset is written in diameter value for diameter command or in radius value for radius command.
(Note 2) If writing the offset data is performed for an axis in which reference position return has not been executed, the
operation message "TLM axis not returned to ref. position" will appear.
(Note 3) When the parameter "#8924 Meas. confirm msg" is "1", the [Offset write] menu is highlighted and the
confirmation message "OK? (Y/N)" appears.
By pressing [Y] (or [INPUT]) key at this time, the measurement value is written as the tool compensation
amount, the highlight of the [Offset write] menu is canceled and the operation message is cleared from the
screen. Also the measurement values are cleared and the highlight of the menus ([Measure X] to [Measure C])
are canceled.
If other than [Y] (or [INPUT]) key is pressed, the measurement values will not be written. At this time, the
highlight of the [Offset write] menu is cancelled and the operation message is cleared. However, the
measurement values are not cleared and the highlight of the menus ([Measure X] to [Measure C]) stay the
same.
(7)
To set the measurement results of the other axes,
repeat (3) to (6).
The measure value is memorized.
The memorized value is displayed in "Measure value",
and the cursor moves to the selected axis (Z axis) of the
"Work meas".
The operation message "Input workpiece measurement
value" is displayed.
Example) Cut the end face, then press the [Measure
Z] menu without retracting the tool from the cutting
end point.
(8)

input the result measured by retracting the tool.
The value 5 is set in the Z axis of "Work meas".
The cursor moves to the offset amount
Example) 5 [INPUT]
(Note 1) Set a diameter value for diameter command
and a radius value for radius command.
(Note 2) When re-entering the workpiece measurement
value, press the [Measure Z] menu and do (7) to (8)
