Automatic Privacy
Description
The system automatically invokes privacy on Intercom and conference calls. As a default,
Automatic Privacy is implemented on all CO line calls. If desired, Privacy on CO line calls can
be disabled, allowing other stations in the system to access CO line calls active at other
stations.
This capability is often used in a small office or group to allow the active user to ask a nearby
user to join or answer the call without the need to transfer or place the call on hold. The user
need only press the CO line button to access the call. When a station enters a conversation in
this way, a Warning tone can be provided to others in the conversation.
Consideration
When Automatic Privacy is enabled, selecting a busy CO line button will return busy tone.
A station can only override a privacy-disabled Station.
The station will present an Intrusion tone when another Station accesses the line.
