4.1
Absent Text Message
Description
A user can choose a Pre-selected (refer to Ref. C) or Custom (refer to Ref. D) message to be
shown in the DKT LCD of a calling user. When a user calls to a station with Absent Text
Message active, the display of the calling users indicates the selected message.
Operation
To activate Absent Text Message from the DKT,
1. Press the [TRANS/PGM] button.
2. Dial 5 1.
3. Dial the 2-digit message code 00 – 20.
4. Press the [HOLD/SAVE] button.
To cancel Absent Text Message from the DKT,
1. Press the flashing [DND/FOR] button or dial ‘5 5 3’.
Consideration
Activating Call Forward (refer to Ref. A) cancels any active Absent Text Message.
When Absent Text Message is active, the [DND/FOR] button will flash as applicable.
If Pre Set Msg DND is assigned, when activating Absent Text Message, the station is
placed in DND.

Custom Message
Description
A user can select from one of 10 Custom messages entered by the System Att’d (refer to Ref.
A) or one (1) entered by the user. Each Custom message can be up to 24 characters.
