Unsupervised Conference
Description
A DKT Station user may establish a conference with external parties and exit the conference
allowing the external parties to converse privately without supervision from the user. An
Unsupervised Conference is also established when a DISA caller places a CO line call or a CO
line call is sent (transfer or forward) to a CO line.
The system will disconnect an Unsupervised Conference if disconnect is detected with only two
parties connected. In addition, because some analog CO lines do not provide a disconnect
signal, when an Unsupervised Conference is initiated that involves an analog CO line, the
ipLDK will activate the Unsupervised Conference timer. Fifteen seconds prior to expiration of
the timer, a Disconnect Warning Tone is provided. At expiration, all parties in the
Unsupervised Conference are disconnected.
If enabled, any party in an Unsupervised Conference can request the Unsupervised
Conference timer be extended. The party enters the Timer Extend code and a digit 1 to 9
indicating the extension timer multiplier. The system will determine the extension time as the
Unsupervised Timer multiplied by the dialed digit. For example, if the Unsupervised
Conference timer is 5 minutes and the user dials the digit 4, the timer will extend to 20 minutes
(4 multiplied by 5 minutes).
Operation
To establish an Unsupervised Conference at the conference initiator,
1. During a conference, press the [CONF] softkey.
2. The [CONF] button, if assigned, flashes and the Unsupervised Conference is
established.
3. To re-enter the conference, press the [CONF] softkey.
To extend the duration of an Unsupervised Conference,
1. During a conference, dial ‘#’ ‘#’.
2. Dial the timer multiplier (1 - 9).
3. ipLDK extends the Unsupervised Conference timer.
Consideration
The Unsupervised Conference Timer applies to all CO line to CO line connections.
An Unsupervised Conference will be terminated if the system receives a disconnect
signal or the Unsupervised Conference Timer expires.
An idle DTMF receiver is required to support extending the Unsupervised conference.
The system has fifteen (15) DTMF receivers for shared use.
An Unsupervised Conference is not subject to Transfer or Hold recall.
If the system receives a disconnect signal and no internal parties remain in the
conference, the Unsupervised Conference is terminated and all parties are disconnected.
If an internal party is still connected when a disconnect signal is received, the connection
with the remaining parties is maintained.
