Do-Not-Disturb (DND)
Description
While in DND, the station will not receive ringing for CO line calls or Page announcements and
stations calling or transferring calls to a station in DND will receive fast busy tone. CO Line
calls to a station in DND are sent to the Attendant or, if enabled, calls forward to the station’s
Voice Mailbox. While in DND, the station user can place calls in the normal fashion.
The station must be permitted use of DND to activate DND. The Attendant can override a
station in DND (refer to Ref. A). By default, DND is available at all stations.
Operation
To toggle DND from a DKT,
1. Press the [DND/FOR] button.
To toggle DND from an SLT,
1. Lift the handset
2. Dial 5 5 3.
Consideration
Pressing the [DND/FOR] button with Call Forward or Absent Text Message active will
deactivate the forward or message and will not activate DND
When a station is assigned as part of a Preset Call Forward chain and is in DND mode,
the call is sent to the next station in the Call Forward chain.
The user must record a greeting for calls to Forward to the Voice Mail, otherwise the call
is sent to the DND announcement.
Executive/Secretary assignments (refer to Ref H) will override DND forward to Voice Mail.
The Attendant may cancel DND state at other Stations.
DND is available to SLTs as well as DKT and IP Phone stations. For the SLT, DND is
activated/deactivated by dialing the DND code ‘5 5 3.
