3.10 Hot Line & Warm Line
Description
When a user goes ‘off-hook’, the system normally provides ICM dial tone. If desired, a station
can be assigned to access a pre-assigned Idle Line Selection system resource (Hot Line).
The Hot Line can be any of the Idle Line settings:
Seize a CO Line,
Call another station,
Activate a Flexible button feature.
As a Hot Line, the Idle Line is accessed immediately. As a Warm Line, the user receives
internal dial tone and after the Warm Line time, the Idle Line is accessed.
Operation
To activate a Hot Line/Warm Line,
1. Lift the handset or press the On/Off button.
2. The Hot Line is activated immediately. The Warm Line is accessed if there is no
activity for the Warm Line time.
Consideration
For proper operation, the Warm Line Timer should be less than the Dial Tone time-out
Timer.
An SLT may be assigned a Hot/Warm Line.
Preferred Line Answer takes precedence over Hot/Warm Line.
