Consideration
CO line to CO line connection must be enabled to support transfers of a CO line to a CO
line.
To support a CO line to CO line transfer, analog CO lines must provide and detect ‘open-
loop’ disconnect supervision. If disconnect supervision is not supported, the CO line
may stay in a busy state after the call is completed.
For proper operation of CO line to CO line unscreened transfer, the receiving CO line
should support ‘Answer supervision’. Answer supervision is commonly supported by
ISDN lines and not analog CO lines. If Answer supervision is supported, after the
Transfer Hold Recall time, the transferring station receives recall. If the station does not
respond to the Recall after the I-Hold Recall time, the Attendant also receives recall. If
the call remains unanswered after the Attendant recall time both CO lines disconnected.
If Answer Supervision is not supported, the transferring station does not receive recall.
CO line to CO line transfers set-up an Unsupervised Conference and are subject to the
conditions of an Unsupervised Conference. Calls are subject to disconnect after
expiration of the Unsupervised Conference.
Pressing a CO line button before completing the transfer will cause the outgoing call to
disconnect and failure of the transfer.
