14.8 Multiple Subscriber Number (MSN)
Description
MSN enables assigning multiple subscriber numbers to one ISDN Interface, allowing Direct-
Dial-In like call delivery. In addition, Sub-Address information may be included as additional
digits in the Called Party Number Information Element allowing for similar call routing by the
ipLDK. When MSN or Sub-address information is received, the system references the MSN
Table for an index to the Flexible DID Table, which then determines call routing.
A station may be assigned an MSN button. If a call is received for the assigned MSN, the
station receives ring and the MSN button will act as the call appearance. In addition, if
assigned, the user will receive call waiting for the MSN call
Consideration
If the Called Party Number from the ISDN does not match an MSN Table entry, the
received digits are treated as defined for DID calls to determine routing of the call.
The MSN Table employs the CO Line entry as a quick look-up reference. If the CO line
number is programmed in the MSN Table, then only those entries with the CO line
number are searched, otherwise the entire MSN Table is searched for a match to the
Called Party Number.
The ipLDK allows the sub-address to be delivered in the Called Party Number (CPN) or in
the CPN Sub-address field of the Call Set-up message. The sub-address delivery is

Sub-address for each station.
The sub-address cannot exceed a single digit, 0 – 9.
Up to 250 entries can be made in the MSN Table.
To use an ISDN CO line with MSN, the CO Service type should be set to DID/MSN.
