4.12 Forced Handsfree Mode
Description
A DKT station user can change the Intercom Signal Mode of the called station from Tone to
Handsfree mode for a call. When receiving ring back tone, the calling station can change the
call to Handsfree. The calling party is then connected to the called station with audio over the
speaker of the called station and the called station user may reply hands free.
Operation
To activate Forced Handsfree mode,
1. Dial ‘#’ while receiving ring back tone on an Intercom call to another DKT.
2. After confirmation tone, the caller’s voice is heard over the called DKT station
speaker and the called user can respond Handsfree.
Consideration
Forced Hands-free is not supported when calling a Linked-pair Station or if the Mobile
Extension feature is active.
Use of Forced Hands-free requires the calling station be enabled for Forced Hands-free
use.
A Hands free intercom call is considered as an answered call. Thus, features such as
Call Back, Call Forward No answer, etc. will not operate in the hands free signaling mode.
