14.3  CLIP/COLP (Calling/Connected Line Identification Presentation) 

Description 

ISDN CO lines present Calling Line Identification (CLI) for incoming calls in the Call Set-up 
message to the ipLDK, identifying the incoming caller.  These CO lines also provide 
Connected Line Identification (COL) for outgoing calls in the Call Connect message to the 
ipLDK, identifying the answering caller.  ipLDK will modify the number based on the system 
configuration as discussed in sections 14.1.1 and 14.1.2. 
 
 

14.3.1 

Incoming Call ID Service 

Description 

When CLIP or COLP is received on an ISDN CO line, the system modifies the Call ID based on 
entries in PGM 200, by removing the assigned International code, My Area Code and My Area 
Prefix Code from the number.  The resulting CID is used for CLI Message Wait and SMDR 
records if CLI Print is enabled.    In addition, the LCD of CLI Display enabled stations (DKT and 
SLT w/CID) will be sent the modified CLI and/or name if received and configured. 
 
If CLI Name Display is enabled for a station, the system will compare the modified CLI for an 
incoming call with the Station Speed Dial numbers, if a match is found, the name associated 
with the Station Speed Dial, if any, is displayed. 
 
The CLI number and/or name display is provided while the line is ringing or displayed during 
ringing and the duration of the call once answered based on the ‘Maintain DID Name’ 
characteristic. 
 

Consideration 

  A maximum of 12 digits can be displayed for CLI.
