3.12.2 Dial by Name
Description
Users of a DKT with an LCD may use Dial by Name to call other users in the system or to dial
System or Station Speed Dial numbers. For proper operation, each station and Speed Dial
should be registered with a Name. Each Station Name can be up to 12 characters where
each character is represented by 2 digits as shown in the table below. The name for a Speed
Dial number may be up to 16 characters in length.
The user selects a Directory (Intercom, System Speed Dial, or Station Speed Dial) then enters
characters to search for a Name, or scroll through the list of Names in the Directory. Once
located, the user selects the Hold/Save button to place the call. When entering characters, the
DKT LCD will display the matching entries as each character is entered.
Operation
To register a DKT Station Name,
1. Press the [TRANS/PGM] button.
2. Dial ‘7 4’.
3. Dial the Name using 2 digits for each character; refer to the digit map chart below.
4. Press [HOLD/SAVE] to accept changes.

To register an SLT Station Name,
1. Lift the handset.
2. Dial ‘5 6 3’ (refer to Ref. C); confirmation tone is heard.
3. Dial ‘7 4’, the Name Register code.
4. Dial the Name using 2 digits for each character; refer to the digit map chart below.
5. Momentarily press the hook-switch to save the Name.
To use Dial by Name,
