4.10 Capping Position Adjustment
This section describes the procedure to adjust the position of print head and cap
assembly.
Always adjust capping position after replacing the following parts:
• Print head
• Cap assembly
• Maintenance assembly
1. Remove I/H Cover.

Release carriage lock and bring out carriage on platen.

Start up from self-diagnosis mode and display “ Check: Adjustment " - “ Adj: CR
Return " - “ CR Return: Check ”.

Place your fingers lightly on the place shown with the blue arrow in the next figure.
CAUTION
Be careful of the following when operating:
• Do not place your hand on the cap slider so as not to nip your hand with carriage.
• Hold cap slider as if wrapping it with your hand from the bottom.
NOTE
• Accurate adjustment is required for capping adjustment. Do not wear gloves
during this operation.
• Place your fingers lightly so as not to press the parts with your fingers.

Press “Enter” from “CR Return: Check.”
NOTE
Be careful of the following when operating:
•
If it feels like your fingers have touched the slider when the right side of print
head touches cap slider, proceed to the step
