MODE SWITCH

Use the standard mode in normal driving conditions and use
the winter mode on slippery road.

Winter Mode

• To select winter mode, press the “W” of the mode switch.

“WINTER” indicator in instrument panel comes on.

• In this mode, the vehicle starts from 2nd gear (forward and

reverse). Use this mode in the event of starting-off or driv-
ing difficulties on slippery road.

• To deselect winter mode, press “S” of the switch. The mode

is changed to standard mode.

How to start off the vehicle with 2nd forward
gear

1. Press the “W” portion of the mode switch to select winter

mode.

2. Place the selector lever to “D” position and check if the shift

lever indicator shows “2”.

3. You can now start off the vehicle with 2nd forward gear.

How to start off the vehicle with 2nd reverse gear

1. Press the “W” portion of the mode switch to select winter

mode.

2. Place the selector lever to “D” position and check if the shift

lever indicator shows “2”.

3. Place the selector lever to “R” position to start off the ve-

hicle with 2nd reverse gear.

• When started off with winter mode, stop the winter mode after

the vehicle speed reaches at a certain level.

• Even the gear is in “-D+” position, the vehicle can be moved down

on a uphill even according to gradients, so you have to depress
the brake pedal.
