connect it to the front connector of the battery compartment.
7. Close the battery door, replace the screws, and replace the lower front cover.
8. Dispose of the old battery according to local requirements at an appropriate recycling facility or
return it to the supplier in the packing material for the new battery.
9. Re-plug the battery connector by pushing the tethered jumper plug into the corresponding port.
6-3 New Battery Charging
1. Connect the UPS directly to a compatible power supply voltage.
2. Press the button on the front panel to power the UPS.
3. Wait four hours for the new Battery to charge.
4. The battery charges to 90% capacity during the first four hours of normal operation. Do not expect
full battery run capability during this initial charge period.
5. Affix a paper label with the charging date on battery.

7 PROCEDURE ON V3/V4 CONTROL STATIONS
7-1 Disassembly of the UPS Battery on a V3/V4 Control Station
1. Remove the UPS from the Control Station (see Job Card D/R A332 - UPS Battery Replacement on
page 1529 , section 7-1 , Disassembly of the UPS on V3/V4 Control Stations on page 1524 ).
To disassemble the UPS battery, you must do the following:
