Distinction between the Senographe System Internal and External IP Address
The Senographe system operates on two different networks, namely an
internal
network and an
external
network, which are illustrated below.
The Senographe system internal network allows the internal components of the Senographe system
(that is, the ADS Computer, IDC and Gantry CPU) to communicate internally. By default, this internal
network uses a private network of 192.168.1.0 with a Netmask 255.255.255.0. The internal network is on
the interface
eri1
(V1/V2 Control Stations) /
nge1
(V3 Control Stations) /
bcme0
(V4 Control Stations),
which is located in the ADS computer. Each Senographe system component has a different
internal
IP
address of the format 192.168.1.
x
, where
x
varies depending on the component. The following table
summarizes each of the Senographe component default internal IP addresses.
The Senographe system external network allows the ADS Computer to communicate with the rest of the
hospital network. This external network is accessible through the interface
eri0
(V1/V2 Control Stations)
/
nge0
(V3 Control Stations) /
e1000g0
(V4 Control Stations), which is located in the ADS Computer. As
mentioned above on the previous page, it is recommended that this interface has an
external
IP address
of 192.1.1.100 with a Netmask 255.255.255.0.
Running the procedure in the following section sets all the ADS Computer IP addresses back to their
default values. It also allows you to configure the Senographe system external IP address to your pre-
ferred value.
The Senographe system internal network must never be on the same network as the hospital network. If
it is on the same network as the hospital network, it will fail to communicate properly due to internal and
external network routing problems. If the hospital network is 192.168.1.0, in addition to the configuration
steps within this Job Card, you must also perform
Job Card ELE A050 - Changing Senographe Internal
Note:
If you have to perform
Job Card ELE A050 - Changing Senographe Internal IP Addresses
, ensure
that you run the network parameter configuration in this Job Card first. Otherwise you will overwrite
the internal IP address of the ADS Computer that you modified in
Senographe Internal IP Addresses
.
