5.05.2 Scaling

To access the
Scale
function, select one or more shapes and then use either of the following:
Right-click the selected shape and go to
Transform>Scale
Go to
Object>Transform>Scale

The following window opens:
Scale:
Select
Dimensions
if you wish to specify the exact width and height for your selection or select
Percentage
if prefer to resize that way.
W:
and
H:
Enter the new dimensions or scaling percentage
Keep Proportions:
Leave the option checked if you want to enter into either
W
or
H
and have the other
automatically calculated so that the aspect ratio remains the same.
Apply to all page:
Mark this option and the dimension change or percentage will be applied to every
shape in the project that is showing and not locked.
Apply Individually:
Mark this option and the dimension change or percentage will be applied as if there
were no bounding box around the shapes.

For example, take three 1-inch squares that are 1 inch apart from one another. Select all three and
apply a 200% scale.

When
Apply Individually
is not checked, the spacing between the shapes is also scaled and the
squares end up 2 inches apart.

When
Apply Individually
is checked, the spacing ends up filled by the expanding size of each
square. Another way to look at it - the position of the shapes (the upper left corner) of each square
does not change, as shown by the red arrows.
