Move the mat so that the 

Z origin

 will be set over the top of the material.  

•

 

Slide the rotary tool straight down until the tip of the bit touches the top of the material.  If the bit cannot 
reach the surface, remove the rotary tool, press the shaft lock, loosen the collet nut and slide the bit out for 
more exposure. Retighten the collet nut and reinsert the rotary tool into the adaptor.

Tighten the adaptor using the included Allen wrench. You may find it easier to turn the wrench if you remove 
the screws from the right-side seat:

Attach the AC/DC adaptor to the power cord and plug into a power outlet. There is a speed control dial on 
the adaptor. Also, there is a power on/off switch on the rotary tool itself. Before starting the cut or the 
engraving, remember to turn on the rotary tool!
