D5. Test Cutting a Material Using the Force Rotary Tool
Go to the
Online Calculator
and enter the
Surface
Height
and
Thickness.
Read and follow all instruc-
tions carefully.
Set the
Z Origin
with the tool
tip on the material.
Set the
XY Origin
in the lower
right corner of the material.
Go to
Cutter>Cutter Settings
and
note the current value for
Surface
Height.
Using a caliper or a ruler with small
increments, measure the
Thick-
ness
of the material.
Not cut through at all
Cut through material.
Cut through MPL.
Increase
Passes
by 2. If you’ve increased several
times, try increasing
ED
by 10, as well.
Return to 1.
There are cut lines
in the MPL.
There are no cut
lines or faint lines.
You are done!

by 20 or more if deep.
